The Best Day

Kenady was baptized Saturday and we had such a great time having everyone up here to be able to witness this special time for her. Both set of grandparents were there along with almost all of her aunts and uncles. She also had many friends there to support her. We had a delicious dinner afterward where we got to visit with everyone.

We took this pic of the Nacey side because everyone was there. The family continues to grow.
Josh and Kenady pre-baptism. Kenady was soooo excited and ready for this day.
Family pic before the baptism. We love Kenady so much and are so proud of her decision to be baptized. She is such a strong young girl with a huge desire to do what's right. I'm so thankful she is such a sweetheart.

All about 8!

Kenady turned 8 on the 20th. I really can't believe it. I'm a mom with middle-aged kids. When did that happen? I told her she could get her ears pierced when she turned 8. When I told her that it seemed like so far away and now it has happened. This is Kenady getting ready for the gun.

After she was done. She didn't even budge, wimper or cry. What a brave girl. She said she had a vision of herself jumping when they pierced her ear and it ruined the hole so she was very aware of not moving.
Then, my dear sweet friend Debra wanted to throw Kenady a surprise tea party for her birthday. Of course I was game for that. She did everything even though I told her to let me help about 20 times. The only thing I did was the cake. It really was the best birthday any of my children will ever get. Thanks to Debra!
These are some of the girls getting ready for Kenady to come in the door.
I filmed her walking in but didn't get a pic of it. She was definitely surprised but very shy about it. She just had a huge grin on her face. This is Kenady trying out the pinky thing with the tea cup. Every girl had their own real teacup and saucer. Debra had all this. I do not own one piece of china. I wasn't much help in that category.
So happy!

Birthday cake. Totally sub par for how awesome the party was.
The spread of food.
Presley looking stylish.
Kenady all decked out with some friends.
Getting ready for the pinata.
Opening presents.
I told Kenady how lucky she was to get a surprise party. Most people never get one in their whole lives. She was so happy and so were we. It was a great birthday. Now onto the baptism. Her date is set for April 16th. More of that to come later.

Oh What do you do in the winter time?

Winter is full of long, cold days that keep us in the house. These are some of the things we have been doing to pass the time. Spiderman and Ironman had a full out wrestling match/battle of the superheroes. I think Spiderman is winning at this point.

You pose for the camera.
You are forced (by your sisters) to listen to "We Will Rock You" with your own headphones so the rest of us don't have to listen to it for the millionth time.
You make a tractor/train while mom mops the floor.
You play Mrs. Puddleduck in your preschool play.
"Quack quack white rabbit, get those dreadful red wings out of my mouth."
You wake up excited Valentines morning to some large chocolate lips and one chocolate fish.
You become a picasso in your own right, wearing old t-shirts of moms. You also get more paint on your face than the t-shirt.
You get caught drinking your bath water. Ewww.
You ride your bikes in the garage, because frankly, we are just sick of the snow and cold and couldn't wait any longer.
You have a picnic in the garage as well, willing better weather to come.
Here's to getting through a cold March!

In-laws

I have to say, I have the best in-laws. I hear lots of complaints from friends about their in-laws and I feel so lucky because I really have the greatest in-laws. This is the most recent picture of everyone is Josh's family, minus the two babies that will be born this year, (none coming from me).

We always have a good time when we get together which seems to be quite often. There is always much laughter and good memories made. Whether its playing cards or making up our own games with a scattergories dice it is always a blast. I am very thankful for a great mother and father in-law that have always treated me just like one of their own. And his siblings for being some of my best friends.

I don't know how many of them read this blog, but this is me, telling them how much I love them and appreciate them. Here's to at least 100 more years of good times.

Play Dead

We did go to temple square during Christmas. The girls saw some older college age girls taking a picture and decided to copy them. They thought they were so cute and so did I.

January was long and cold. But these first few days of February have been even colder. Luckily, the groundhog did not see his shadow. So according to Presley spring is here. She was so excited yesterday and doesn't understand that an early spring in Wyoming means that June might be warm. Oh well, we will take that.

Not much has been going on. Josh only has two more tournaments for wrestling that he has to go to, regionals and nationals. College wrestling has a very long season. The kids and I have been going to basketball games wherever we can find them, college or high school. Teag loves it and has now adopted "We will rock you" as his "game song." His words, not mine. He also has a "game shirt" (basketball jersey/ tank top with numbers on it, whichever is clean) that he wears everyday and night. Its awesome, let me tell you.

In January we did make a quick trip to Gunnison CO, Kenady's birthplace, as it was dubbed by the kids. Josh had a wrestling tournament there so we decided to make it a weekend for all of us. It was fun to see some of our old friends and eat at some of our favorite restaurants. The kids didn't have as much fun as Josh and I but, hey, its not always about them right?

This video is of Teag playing dead. He is quite good at it and will drag it on for a while. He had a little bit of flatulence in the middle of this video, but just ignore that. He is such a funny little boy. We love every minute of it.

Here's to a warmer February.

Christmas rocks!

Christmas was fabulous this year. We loved every minute of it. As the kids get older it is even more fun for Josh and I during Christmastime. They love all the traditions and look forward to them now. For the last 4 years we have got together with our good friends for Christmas eve dinner and festivities. This is a picture of all the kids. It was the best one we got so we went with it.

This was a family picture taken that night. As you can see, Josh was not cooperating, so as punishment I posted this picture. I can't believe he is 32 and still cannot take a serious picture. Maybe by the time he is 40, doubt it though.
These are our good friends and party animals. This year we had clam chowder, salad, garlic cheese rolls and mud pie for dinner. It was delicious.
Kenady took her turn with the camera that night.
This was after the kids opened up their PJs on Christmas eve. Teag also got a pillow pet to match the girls' that they've had a couple years. He was super pumped. In fact, the kids were so excited at this point I wasn't sure how they would handle it in the morning.
Again with their pillow pets.
Next morning, they woke us up at 7:20. Not too bad compared to how early I used to get up when I was growing up (5:00am). But this is the first year that we haven't had to wake them up . This is Kenady showing off her paper jamz.
Presley with her nutcracker. Weird that she wanted one, right?

After most of the presents were opened.
Christmas was great. We got to participate in a few Christmas concerts, see temple square and the visitors centers which the kids loved, make tons of Christmas treats and candies, receive tons of Christmas treats and candies, and even got to remember the reason for the season. I know this blog seems a little late since it is the 6th of January (gasp) but this is just how I roll with blogging. Hope all your Christmas's were wonderful and are having a great New Year so far.

Teag's Birthday, a little late.

Teag's birthday was October 29th but Josh and I put on a big event that day so we didn't actually celebrate it until November 9th or something like that. Here is Teag with his Thomas the Train cake that I made him. He loved it, (well at least as much as a 2-year old can appreciate the 6 hours his mother put in to making this cake, which isn't very much.)

I thought it turned out ok. It was red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the cake actually tasted fabulous, especially the next day straight from the fridge, Delicious. I love cold cake!
This random picture is Teag "helping" me with a wedding cake I did recently. He definetly made more of a mess than I did and that is saying a lot when I 'm doing a big cake.
This is Teag checking out his present. We actually got him a Thomas the Train track set. It is huge and very cool but I'm sure what I was thinking getting it for a 2 year old. We set it all up for him and he was like Godzilla. He would just walk through the roads and tracks and ruin everything. He mostly just plays with the train seperately. So I got him this cheap truck to open for his birthday party.
Awesomely enough, this truck has noisy buttons, and it dances to "Life is a Highway." Literally the truck dances, it moves forward and backward to the beat. So we got to hear that for at least the next week straight.
This is a bonus picture of the kids in our tub. Teag "accidently" dumped half the bottle of his shampoo in my tub, so I turned on the jets just to see what would happen, and wa-laa! Bubble mania.

The kids had a blast for the better part of an hour. There was actually only about 5 inches of water in the tub and the rest was completely filled with bubbles.
Hope your holidays are going great!
