First Things First

Of course I will get to the Christmas post, but first I have to blog about everything I haven't since my camera broke.

We spent Thanksgiving in Las Vegas as previously mentioned. These are some pictures taken before the camera accident.

The kids played every day in the pool for at least a couple hours. They had a blast. It was only about 65 degrees outside but Grandpa had the pool heated up to nice warm temperature for them.
Then they would all take a bath in Grandma's huge tub.
As you can see they were in the tub a lot. Grandma also spoiled them by this enormous bubble bath. They don't get that luxury at home.
This is how they bath at our house. Rub a dub dub, three kids in the tub. (one that doesn't hold still)
This is just Teag on a typical day, hangin' in the kitchen with mom. He found the powdered sugar, bit a hole it, made this mess and then began to lick his pants. Can ya blame him?

Here's a couple videos of what we do for fun at our house. I walked into this awesome display of lip singing. Presley had cleared off the table and was doing her best impression of Miley Cyrus.

The other video was also typical of a night at the Nacey's. Fun stuff. I hope everyone's Christmas was great. Our was fabulous and will post more on that later.

words of Presley...

Still no camera, but I did want to document some funny stuff that Presley said the other day.

Our conversation went like this:

Me: We are going to have a bridal shower for Jenna this week

Presley: Hey Kenady we are going to watch Jenna take a bridal shower

Next day

Presley: Mom, Jenna is going to chew that gum while she's taking her bridal shower huh? We are going to watch her.

I still don't think she understands.

On a different day, it was really windy, imagine that in Rock Springs. She could her the wind whistling and howling and she says, "Mom, there is really a tomato coming!"

I said, "Yep"

She's a cutie.

The One-Year old, the Christmas candy and the Wedding

So, I think that I was the only blog with Halloween pictures still up. I was in desperate need of an update and lo and behold, my camera gets swatted (accidentally) from the counter, which causes it to break and be in need of repair. So I don't have any new pictures even though we had a recent holiday and a slew full of other things going on. I will try to recap.

Thanksgiving was spent in Viva Las Vegas with Josh's side of the family. LOVED being there, hanging out, swimming (kids), eating, shopping, playing cards and laughing. HATED driving with our one- year old 9 hours each way. Unfortunately for the rest of us, Teag has ruined our chances of making that trip anytime in the next year to eighteen months, or whenever he decides that watching a movie in the car is awesome. So until then bye bye, Viva Las Vegas, I will miss you!

The Christmas tree is up and my December is booked as always, but even more so since my dear sweet sister Jenna has decided that December 23rd is a great day to get married. So on top of regular December stuff, we are throwing in a temple session, bridal shower, bridal pictures a wedding and a reception and I'm making the cake, all before the 2nd of January when her newly wedded husband will return to the army. Sounds crazy but we are very excited for her. They make a great couple.

All during this month I am trying to keep Christmas special for our kids and I want to share one tradition that we do. I wrap 25, thats right, Christmas books and put them under the tree. Each night the kids get to open one and we read it together. They love it and it really gets us in the Christmas spirit, especially on the fateful night that "A Christmas Dress for Ellen" gets unwrapped and mom can't keep her sobs under control. (Thats my favorite night too!)

I love Christmas and all the candy and good feelings that come with it. Bring on the online shopping and ABC Family Christmas movies, "Christmas in Handcuffs" anyone?

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!

Halloween time again, and boy do we love it! We got all dressed up for our friend's annual Halloween party. We even won this sweeeet skeleton trophy for most Creative costume. Josh also won for being the most in character. He had us laughing all night. It was great!

Trick or Treating in Wyoming. Actually it wasn't too cold. I was thankful that the wind died down from the day before. (Our trampoline flew across the yard. We had bags of rocks on the legs, so the legs stayed and top blew into the corner of our yard. Needless to say it is now down for the winter.)
The kids had fun trick or treating but had more fun handing out candy. I'm going to be sad to see the days go when two streets of trick or treating is satisfying enough. Ahhhh, good times!

Teag's 1st Birthday

Thursday was my baby's 1st birthday. I can't believe it. The time has flown. Teag is a ball full of energy and we just adore him. He keeps us running and laughing and life wouldn't be the same without him. We're so grateful for him.

This was probably his favorite gift that he received. Kids are so crazy huh? Although the walker/bike/scooter in the video below was a close 2nd.

We love you Teag and please stop growing. I can't take it anymore :)

Down We Go

Teag learned to go down the stairs the way that does not involve big lumps on noggins and loud cries. FYI- he has not fallen down the stairs, I just wanted to teach him how to go down as soon as possible to avoid such things.

As you can see he is still struggling with the initial take off but does just fine once he finds the stairs. He is my absolute favorite almost 1 year old in the world. What a cutie!

Happy Birthday Presley Continued....

I didn't have time to finish my post for Presley's birthday, so here is low- down on the events.

We spent the weekend in SLC. Presley decided that she wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese for her birthday. So all of Josh's family that was in town came and we had a crazy couple hours at Chuck E Cheese.

Presley shares a birthday with her cousin Brooklyn so we had a joint party.

This is Brooklyn and Presley. Brookie is allergic to lots of stuff so her mommy made these adorable Vegan cupcakes that everyone loved. Presley's cake was not vegan but was delicious none the same ( and very adorable, if I do say so myself :)

Trying to win tickets with Daddy. I think the Dads got into it as much as the kids did. We won about 1000 tickets, enough to buy each kid a cheap toy that broke in the car on the drive home. Well worth it though, right?

It was a great birthday and she is a beautiful little four year old and certainly my favorite 4 year old in the whole world. We are so glad she is in our family. By the way, Chuck E Cheese was actually really fun. I would recommend a weekday instead of a Saturday but still fun.

Happy Birthday Presley

Bear Lake!

This post is approximately 2 months late. But better late than never, I guess. This year my family had our first Mark and Stella Mackey family reunion in Bear Lake. It was a good time had by all. We camped for two nights had dutch oven, rode bikes, hit the lake, played cards, had a hot dog roast and every other great thing that comes with camping and family reunions. Josh is one that hates family reunions, I'm not sure how this feeling came about, but he actually had a really good time at this one. These are some pictures of our events. This is us playing in the sand. My kids were astonished that there was actually sand at the lake. They are used to the Flaming Gorge where the beaches consist of rocks, mud or sagebrush.

Teag is intrigued by the a couple of things 1) he can see his toes in the water or 2) the feeling of sand up in places that it probably shouldn't be.
Presley has OCD about toe jam in her toes. She checks her toes(and Teag's) for toe jam several times a day. The sand between her toes was killing her. She just couldn't take it.
Josh lookin' hot on his pontoon boat. He brought it to try fishing but my nieces and nephews ended up having possession of it most of the day. They all loved it.
Teag is trying to escape the play pen, but to no avail.
It was a great weekend. Gotta love Bear Lake and Raspberry shakes. Just wish it was a bit closer so we could enjoy it more often.

Presley Rides

Presley decided that she was big enough to ride her bike without training wheels a couple weeks ago. It took her about 3 minutes to get it down. She did awesome.

Family Picture Time.....Finally

I finally scheduled some family pictures and these are the results:

These pictures were all taken by Breanne Aullman with BTA Designs. She did a great job and I'm so happy that she was willing to drive to Rock Springs to do them.

Just a quick note about our tender-hearted daughters....Tonight Josh brought home some baby mice from the pet store.  They are called fuzzies cause they have hair but they are still very tiny.  He brought them home with the intention of feeding them to his Arowana (one of his fish that is about a foot long).  However, the girls caught sight of them before the feeding frenzy was able to begin and you can guess what happened.  The girls latched on to them right away, naming them Jaq and Gus-Gus, and not wanting to put them down.  I have to admit they were very cute little critters.  The girls wanted to know if they could keep them, and I, not wanting to lie, and also wanting them to face the realities of owning super large fish, told them what the plan was.  

They immediately were up in arms and tears started to well up in the corner's of Kenady's eyes.  That one I saw coming but I didn't expect Presley to have the same reaction.  She said, "We can't feed them to the fish, or else their mothers will be sad..."  She couldn't finish because she got choked up with tears and emotions.  Then the waterworks came from both of them.

So I asked them what we should do with them and they said we should take them back to their mothers.  (you can't keep them because they will die, we called the pet store to see if we could keep them as pets after we saw how much the girls loved them, but the answer was no.  They said we could try to feed them with a syringe full of milk every 2 hours (not happening), but they would still probably die after not too long.)  

So I thought Josh was going to say that he was taking them back but then feed them to the fish anyway, nope, we all loaded up in the car and took back the baby mice to their mothers.  

Sidenote:  in between the time that we decided to take them back and when we actually took them back, the girls got out their littlest pet shop stuff and played house with the baby mice.  They were sitting in the the pet shop's house and swinging in the pet shops swing, they made nice soft beds for them, oh yeah, it was quite a sight.  

Anyway,  sleep well baby mice, back with your mother. ( I don't think I would have had the heart to feed them to the Arowana either, they were pretty dang cute for rodents!)

Ahhhh Summer!

So we've been busy jetting around the region. We spent some time in Bear Lake on Friday for the Mackey Family Reunion. I got to see some of my cousins and Aunts and Uncles that I haven't seen in a few years so it was really nice. We had a good time there and then headed down to SLC. On the way we stopped in Randolph to see my neices Bailee and Falynn reign as jr. Rodeo Princesses. We got to see them ride their circle at the beginning of the rodeo. They did such a good job. I didn't take my camera with me....

Then on to SLC to hang out for the weekend. We celebrated Josh's grandma's 85th birthday on Sunday where we got to see all his cousins and a few of his aunts and uncles.

Now today I'm heading up to Star Valley to pick some raspberries at my Grandma's house, yummy, and then we are packing up for another family reunion is Bear Lake for the weekend. It sounds and feels like a lot of running around, but I figure we might as well get real good and tired before summer ends and it gets really horrible and cold. I love summer!

I've also temporarily misplaced my camera so I don't have any pictures of our latest adventures so these are some old ones. I just have to put pictures with each post, right? :)

Silly Sisters

I left Teag in his chair eating Cheerios only to come back and find this sight:

Goofy Kids!
This is a picture of some of the little neighborhood girls that my kids get to play with, basically on a daily occurrence. Cute little sweeties! Avery and Presley are in the middle and they are pretty much BFFs. When they play house, they say, "I'll be the mom and you be the sweetie."(Sweetie means daughter). I think its so cute.
This was Kenady at our Luau party. She thought she looked sooooo beautiful. She did :)
My good friend gave me this cute apron and rubber gloves, complete with ribbons and lace, for my birthday. I wore it most of the day ( not the gloves). I love them!

Busy Busy!

I've decided that I officially suck at blogging.  There have been a bunch of life experiences that I missed blogging about, but only because we have been so stinkin' busy doing much more important things.  Like,  

Building a car for the giant purple bear. (That was a tough one).

Looking adorable/puking all over a lot of things.
Looking way too grown up so that mommy gets sad, and that feeling that I just want to squeeze his cute little body, both at the same time. 

Going on a 16 mile bike ride in Richfield up to Big Rock Candy Mountain.  Ya thats right.  I pulled Presley and Teag and Kenady rode her sweet Schwinn the entire way.  I was so proud of her.  
This was about one mile into the infamous ride.  She's all smiles.  Along the way however, we got rained on and hailed on.  During the hailing part the smiles disappeared and turned into sobs.  I had to promise her hot chocolate so that she would keeping going through the stinging cold hail.   She was such a trooper.  

When we got to the top, 8 miles in, we went into the convenience store to get some ice cream.  Kenady found a pink heart "diamond" that was about as big as cantalope and said, "Mom, I think Dad would really like this for Father's Day."  Very sly, she almost had me ;)  

Riding dirt bikes.  This is something Josh has been thoroughly enjoying this summer.  He got a new dirt bike, but the funny thing is, he doesn't really like to get it dirty.  I keep telling him its a "dirt" bike, but I don't think he gets the picture.

I can't believe summer is half way over.  We are going to try to go full speed until the end of August so we can have as much fun as possible before the frigid winter comes again.  

Maybe I'll try to get at least a couple of posts in before that!
