Teag's Birthday, a little late.

Teag's birthday was October 29th but Josh and I put on a big event that day so we didn't actually celebrate it until November 9th or something like that. Here is Teag with his Thomas the Train cake that I made him. He loved it, (well at least as much as a 2-year old can appreciate the 6 hours his mother put in to making this cake, which isn't very much.)

I thought it turned out ok. It was red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the cake actually tasted fabulous, especially the next day straight from the fridge, Delicious. I love cold cake!
This random picture is Teag "helping" me with a wedding cake I did recently. He definetly made more of a mess than I did and that is saying a lot when I 'm doing a big cake.
This is Teag checking out his present. We actually got him a Thomas the Train track set. It is huge and very cool but I'm sure what I was thinking getting it for a 2 year old. We set it all up for him and he was like Godzilla. He would just walk through the roads and tracks and ruin everything. He mostly just plays with the train seperately. So I got him this cheap truck to open for his birthday party.
Awesomely enough, this truck has noisy buttons, and it dances to "Life is a Highway." Literally the truck dances, it moves forward and backward to the beat. So we got to hear that for at least the next week straight.
This is a bonus picture of the kids in our tub. Teag "accidently" dumped half the bottle of his shampoo in my tub, so I turned on the jets just to see what would happen, and wa-laa! Bubble mania.

The kids had a blast for the better part of an hour. There was actually only about 5 inches of water in the tub and the rest was completely filled with bubbles.

More Halloween

Its been a great month full of candy, pumpkins and parties. This is my cute little Thomas.

Our friends kept the decorations up from the adult party we had the weekend before and we all brought out kids back to have a little party. There was dancing, pinatas and doughnut games. Our kids had a blast. There were little dancing machines.
Teag found a gun at their house and was shooting everyone. Whenever he would shoot me though, he would say, I'm sorry mommy" and give me a kiss. What a sweet boy.

Good Halloween. Glad that week is over. Halloween was the easiest thing we did but still a very busy week. Bring on Thanksgiving!

5th Birthday

Presley turned 5 on October 3rd. We had a happy Sunday down in SLC watching conference and eating yummy food and of course, playing with cousins. She shares a birthday with one of her cousins, Brookie. We had a birthday party at home the next day. This is Presley before the party.

A little better picture of the cake. I thought it turned out pretty well. I think all the hard work was definitely lost on all these 4 and 5 year olds but oh well. I haven't decided if I go to the effort of these cakes for me or for my kids. I do have a good time doing it even if it does take some extra time.
Happy Birthday to Presley. I hope she had a great day. Although she was confused when I took her back to her preschool after she turned 5. she thought that she got to go to kindergarten after she turned 5.

First Day of School 2010

And last of all, a sign of a well spent summer. His tan line proves what a great summer we had. I still have some pictures to post of summer and other odds and ends. I might get to that, but i wouldn't want to break my streak of one blogpost a month. I just couldn't be that on top of it!

So we've been trying to run around as much as possible during this short but awesome summer. I hate to waste summer weekends so we have been going, going, going. And I love it. I'm so sad that my kids are starting school next week. Its lucky its gets cold around here so quickly or I would probably get the summertime blues.

But all is well. We are gearing up for one last labor day camping hurrah and its going to be a good one. Thursday to Monday with a quick trip home for church on Sunday and then back out. We are very excited.

These are just some funny pics of my kids. I guess caramel popcorn tastes better if you eat it while sitting on the cupboard because this is what I walked in and saw.

Boo to summer being over. At least I love fall too. It gets cold but from here til December I get distracted easily with volleyball, football, hunting, halloween, thanksgiving and Christmas so I can manage saying farewell to summer! Hope you've all had great summers!

Deadwood

This picture is out of order, thanks to Teag. This was inside the Wonderous Cave just outside of Deadwood.

We ventured up to Deadwood South Dakota for the 4th. We had a blast as we always do up there. Josh's grandparents live on Main Street in Deadwood which makes it so fun. This was our first walk down main street, right past all the Casinos and cute little shops.

The next day we headed to the Wondorous Caves. It was 47 degrees deep down in the cave. A bit of a difference from the 95 degree weather that waited for us outside.

Next we headed to Storybook Island Park where roasted our children like little shish kabobs. We probably took about 70 pictures here. The kids loved it even though they were totally red in the face.

Next on to Reptile Gardens. This is the giant Tortise that by the way, it is NOT ok to sit on. We found out afterward.

We went to Mt. Rushmore, my how its shrunk since the last time we were there. Or maybe my kids are giants ;)
The next day heading to the Roughlock Waterfalls.
At the fall. We were lucky enough to be sans Teag for this outing. He was home taking a nap with Grandma. I told Josh there were numerous places for Teag to jump in the water and it was nice not to have to worry about him.

We had a fabulous time as always in Deadwood. We braved a couple cemeteries, went swimming, played at the park, hit up a BBQ with some of Josh's parents friends and just had a great time. Josh's Grandma Himmerich stuffed our faces full of delicious food and we enjoyed every bite. Thanks for all the good times Deadwood. We hope to see you again next year!
